Microenterprise Development
Keyway Associates is committed
to creating opportunities and support for microenterprise
development as an avenue for economic self-sufficiency.
Keyway has several ongoing projects in both Africa and
Asia.
In Indonesia, for example, Keyway workers began a small
business making cards, stationery, and wooden puzzles
from recycled materials. The business provides jobs
and income for several families in an impoverished area.
In Africa, Keyway has helped develop several small businesses;
some are based on sewing clothing, such as school uniforms,
while another turns recycled plastic bags into purses.
These small businesses, begun with loans as small as
$8 USD, lift whole families out of devastating poverty. |
